The Russian military has received the first batch of the universal Varan unmanned tracked platform. The device is capable of carrying up to 1.5 tons of payload and operates remotely.
The novelty was developed by the "People's Front". Soldiers are already using it to evacuate the wounded and deliver ammunition, the platform drives up on its own and operates remotely.
We have developed a "follow me" function so that soldiers can simply attach a carabiner to themselves or put the remote control in their pocket, and, accordingly, the platform will follow them. We have already handed over the first batch to the military, the feedback is extremely positive.
The developers added that any type of equipment can be installed on the Varan, for example, electronic reconnaissance equipment or electronic warfare systems, as well as turrets or machine guns. The device will also be useful for demining territories.
The developers did not provide more accurate tactical and technical characteristics and the composition of the electronic "filling" of the drone. The operating time of the device is also unknown.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian Lancet loitering munitions have proven themselves as one of the discoveries on the front line. This is an accurate and reliable weapon that hits important enemy targets in the tactical depth.
