Российские вертолеты Ми-38 получат самолетный двигатель ТВ7–117В

Rostec Group: Airlines want to minimize aircraft operating costs as much as possible

Mi-38 helicopters in Russia will be equipped with a new version of the aircraft engine, the TV7–117V turboshaft. This technology is often used on regional lines, noted in the Rostec State Corporation.

Also, turboprop engines of this family will be received by new Russian regional aircraft Il-114–300 and TVRS-44 "Ladoga" — TV7–117ST-01 and 117ST-02, respectively.

Rostec explained that domestic airlines want to minimize the cost of operating machines, primarily fuel consumption, as well as increase their payload in order to carry more passengers per flight.

Engineers managed to achieve impressive characteristics from the TV7–117 family of engines:

  • Engine power — 3,100 hp
  • Weight reduced by 15%
  • Confirmed unit life — up to 18 thousand hours

During flight tests, two Mi-38s have already made a long flight, covering about 6.5 thousand km. New engines will help the regional aviation of Russia "spread its wings" in full force.

Earlier www1.ru reported that new Russian radio communications for the SJ-100 tested in the air. Under the program of factory and certification tests, the SJ-100 has already performed about 30 flights.
