The Geoscan Group, a major Russian developer and manufacturer of UAVs, cubesats, and software for photogrammetric data processing and 3D visualization, has announced the development of a new high-speed transmitter for space needs.
According to IA "TASS", which cites the press service of Geoscan, the device can transmit data from satellites to Earth at a speed of up to 200 Mbit/s in the amateur radio range of 10.45 GHz. This will allow data to be sent from satellites hundreds of times faster.
The high-speed radio transmitting device COMMX (Communication X-Band) was created specifically for the company's satellite platform called Geoscan 3U, but the technology itself can be applied in other projects. The transmitter operates according to the second-generation digital satellite broadcasting standard DVB-S2, which has already proven itself in satellite television and space communications.
