The aircraft engine pump-regulator successfully passed the test

At the Central Institute of Aviation Motor Engineering named after P.I. Baranov (CIAM, part of the N.E. Zhukovsky Institute National Research Center), a pump-regulator for the TV7-117ST-01 aircraft engine successfully passed fire tests. This engine is designed for the Il-114-300 aircraft, and it is planned to be put into mass production this year.

The tests were attended not only by CIAM specialists, but also by pump-regulator developers from UEC-STAR and engine developers from UEC-Klimov.

The test is considered passed if the unit withstands the effects of flame for five minutes, and after that, for another five minutes, no leaks of working fluid or its vapors begin on the product. The NR-65STM aircraft engine pump-regulator passed the test and proved that high temperatures do not affect its safety, it remains sealed and is able to perform its functions even in a fire.

It is especially noted that "after direct exposure to flame for five minutes, no fuel leaks were recorded on the unit, it confirmed its fire resistance".

It was previously announced that the TV7-117ST-01 will be released into mass production in 2024 in the amount of six units.
