В России начали производить новые дизельные двигатели ЯМЗ-537 для сельхозтехники, грузовиков и транспорта

The launch of this serial production was announced for the end of 2022

Yaroslavl Motor Plant "Avtodizel" has finally launched serial production of its YaMZ-537 diesel medium in-line engines. It was planned to be launched at the end of 2022, but the first hundred YaMZ-537 units rolled off the assembly line only now, in January 2024.

YaMZ-537

YaMZ-537 is a refined and equipped with domestic parts continuation of the YaMZ-536 series. The value of its specific fuel consumption has not changed. The resource characteristics have also not changed - the engine, according to the manufacturer, like other representatives of the YaMZ-530 series, can travel up to 1 million km.

But YaMZ-537 is still not an exact copy: its volume and maximum power have increased in comparison with YaMZ-536: from 6.65 liters to 7.7 liters and from 330 to 360 hp. The maximum torque reaches 1500 Nm.

Also, these engines have a domestic accumulator-type fuel supply system with microprocessor control inside, the components of which are produced by the Yaroslavl Diesel Equipment Plant.

As noted by the manufacturer, the basic model of the family is the YaMZ-537 engine - a six-cylinder in-line four-stroke diesel engine with turbocharging.

Later modifications will mainly differ in the adjustments of the fuel equipment, by changing the setting parameters of the ECU (electronic control unit). YaMZ-537 engines, their modifications and configurations are designed for installation on MAZ, Ural vehicles, LiAZ buses, as well as a wide range of off-road equipment.
Yaroslavl Motor Plant

At the same time, the engines comply with international standards of the fifth environmental class.

Yaroslavl Motor Plant is preparing another novelty, in addition to the replenishment in the YaMZ-537 family - YaMZ-770 is under testing. This is a representative of the family of heavy six-cylinder in-line diesel engines produced by the Yaroslavl Motor Plant, weighing more than a ton and with a power range from 360 to 620 hp. It will become a power unit for heavy transport, construction, mining and tractor equipment, as part of diesel generator sets and on specialized products. Officially, the start of its sales was announced for 2025.
