On September 24, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched 15 S8000 “Banderol” cruise missiles simultaneously. This was reported by analysts from “Voennaya Khronika” with reference to sources.
According to their information, such a dense group application of this type of ammunition had not been recorded before.
According to open sources, the missile “Banderol” is capable of flying up to 500 km and carrying a warhead weighing about 135 kg.
Military expert Alexander Stepanov previously noted that various combat aircraft, including Su-34, Su-35S, and even Su-24, can be carriers of the S8000. The “Banderol” accelerates to 600 km/h, which is 2 times less than the speed of sound.
The cost of one “Banderol” missile was estimated at up to 30 thousand dollars, which is 2 times cheaper than the “Geran-4” drone.
