Rostec showcased a 3D model of the PS-90A - the first Russian engine with composites

Rostec showcased a digital 3D model of the PS-90A turbofan engine. This is a domestic fourth-generation power unit for mainline aviation, serially produced by ODK. The engine was developed for the Il-96 and Tu-204, and its fuel consumption is reduced by 13–17%.

The PS-90A became the first Russian aircraft engine to incorporate components made of polymer composite materials in its design. Sound absorption was brought to a world-class level, removing restrictions on flights to any airports. The seven-module design allows for quick replacement of failed components without sending the engine back to the factory. For a quarter of a century, these units have been powering the Il-96-300, Tu-214, and Tu-204 of the Special Flight Detachment "Rossiya".

Based on the PS-90A gas generator, industrial gas turbine units with capacities of 10, 12, 16, and 25 MW were created for gas transportation and energy. Their total operating time has exceeded 36 million hours. In total, more than 600 aviation engines of the family and over a thousand GTUs have been produced.
