Indian airlines are keenly interested in the new Il-114-300 turboprop liner and the short-haul SJ-100 after the presentation of the aircraft at the Wings India air show. This was noted by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
Manturov touched upon the topic of aircraft deliveries abroad at a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Indian commission.
The SJ-100 and the modernized turboprop Il-114-300 have generated high interest among Indian airlines.
It should be noted that only private airline Flamingo Aerospace has publicly shown interest in the Il-114-300. It has contracted the first 6 units of the Il-114-300, and discussions for larger batches are still ongoing at the intergovernmental commission level.
The Il-114-300 received its type certificate in June 2026. It is expected to compete with foreign Bombardier Dash 8 and ATR 72 aircraft. "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" conducted a detailed comparison of the "Ilyusha" with foreign liners.
