New SJ-100 version with PD-8 enters serial production: factory reveals production capabilities

"Yakovlev" expects to produce up to 37 regional aircraft per year if there is demand from airlines

The regional aircraft SJ-100 in its new modification with PD-8 engines will be able to be produced at the same rate as the previous version. These production capabilities were assessed at the "Regional Aircraft" branch of PAO "Yakovlev" in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

The production center already has experience in reaching this level of output. According to the enterprise director, Egor Popov, the new version of the aircraft maintains a high level of commonality with the previous modification, so the transition will not require a reduction in assembly rates.

In the old modification of the SJ-100 aircraft, we produced 37 aircraft per year. These are the maximum values we achieved. For the new modification, since it is maximally unified, we will easily be able to reach these figures.

At the same time, the final production volumes will depend on airline demand and market needs. The enterprise expects that the new SJ-100 will be in demand on domestic routes, including regional transportation.

Earlier it was reported that SJ-100 aircraft are at various stages of readiness at the production site in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, and Russian carriers have already signed contracts for the supply of these machines.
