The government has allocated another 2.6 billion rubles for the completion of three Il-114-300s by the end of the year. This will ensure the workload of industrial enterprises and the gradual renewal of the Russian carriers' aircraft fleet with domestically produced aircraft, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
At the same time, an investment project is being prepared to finance the supply of Il-114-300s for air transportation in the Far East.
The Il-114-300 is a regional turboprop airliner, a deep modernization of the Soviet Il-114-100. It is designed to carry up to 68 passengers, with a crew of two.
The cruising speed of the Il-114-300 is about 450 km/h, and its flight altitude is up to 7600 meters. The key task of the aircraft is to replace outdated An-24s and imported aircraft of a similar class (ATR-42, ATR-72, Q400) on regional routes.
The heart of the machine is two domestic TV7-117ST-01 turboprop engines: each develops 3100 horsepower at takeoff and rotates a low-noise six-blade AV-112-114 propeller.
Passengers board using the built-in ramp. The airliner was created primarily for the North, the Far East, and Siberia.
Last year, the manufacturer of the Il-114-300, PAO "Aviation Complex named after S.V. Ilyushin", tried to obtain exactly the same amount from four insurance companies. Materials with details of the case consideration were not published, the proceedings were held in camera. The Moscow Arbitration Court terminated the proceedings on the claim on August 8.
Initially, deliveries of the Il-114-300 were promised to begin in 2024, but the deadlines were postponed. In June 2026, Rosaviatsiya issued a type certificate for the aircraft. However, it turned out that the airliner cannot take off when the thermometer rises above plus 25 degrees or drops below minus 9, and a wet runway is also prohibited. For comparison, the previous Il-114-100 felt confident in a much wider temperature range – from minus 30 to plus 45 degrees.
