At the ODK-Saturn enterprise, the training of the first group of multi-qualified specialists under the “Metal Cutting” program has been completed. Eleven employees received several working specialties at once, which will allow them to perform various operations in the manufacture of aircraft engine parts.
ODK-Saturn is part of the United Engine Corporation of Rostec. The company produces PD-8, PD-14 aircraft engines, as well as gas turbine units for industry and the navy. For two years, the enterprise trained a pilot group of specialists. During this time, the program participants mastered the professions of mechanical assembly fitter, turner, milling machine operator, CNC machine operator, and CNC machine and manipulator setter.
The training followed a practice-oriented scheme. Theoretical classes were held at the enterprise's production and training center, after which the knowledge was reinforced directly in the workshops under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Dmitry Nerubenko, Production Director of ODK-Saturn, noted that the development of engine building requires highly qualified personnel and reduced production times. According to him, specialists capable of working in several professions at once help to build production processes more efficiently, so the enterprise intends to expand the training program.
Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that future MAI engineers studied the production of Su-30 and MS-21 at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The internship at the OAK enterprise allowed students to see the aircraft's journey from parts development to final assembly.
