United Engine Corporation (ODK) has begun forming a talent pool for new-generation Russian aviation programs. In Ufa, graduates of "ODK-UMPO" received their diplomas and will soon be working on the creation of gas turbine engines.
In total, 32 young engineers will join the Ufa enterprise this year, specializing in "Aircraft Engines," "Mechanical Engineering," "Standardization and Metrology," and other areas critical to the aviation industry.
By their final year, targeted students already know many work processes in practice and most often get jobs in the departments where they completed their internships.
ODK's key project is the ultra-powerful PD-35 for a future long-haul aircraft. The power unit has already received more than 2,300 parts manufactured using additive technologies.
Aviation expert Roman Gusarov explained that the PD-35 will be the pinnacle of domestic technologies, but its development is more complex than launching a rocket into space.
