"Tramplin Electronics", the developer of Irtysh processors, has issued declarations of conformity for Chinese Loongson servers. The documents allow the sale of finished equipment in Russia and other EAEU countries.
As CNews found out, the company received at least two declarations: one in March, the second in June. One will be valid until June 2029, the term of the second is calculated for almost five years. "Tramplin" did not specify why it needed Chinese servers and whether deliveries are planned.
Expert Alexey Boyko suggests that it could be solutions based on Irtysh. At the same time, major Russian server manufacturers are not yet ready to test new chips: they are already investing in platforms based on Baikal and Elbrus.
The story looks particularly ambiguous after the claims of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. In April, the department stated that "Irtysh C616" completely coincides with the Chinese Loongson LS3C6000/S, and the C632 model is almost identical to another Loongson chip. The ministry saw possible risks to national security.
"Tramplin Electronics" disagrees with this. They call "Irtysh" a Russian development on the licensed LoongArch architecture and promise to provide documents for verification.
The line itself includes chips with 16, 32, and 64 cores for data centers and critical infrastructure. However, there are no ready-made "Irtysh" on the market yet: engineering samples are expected in the second quarter of 2027, and the company expects to start sales in Russia at the same time.
