The Nizhny Novgorod aircraft plant "Sokol" will change its purpose and begin producing small aircraft in Russia. This was announced by Vadim Badeha, head of the United Aircraft Corporation.
According to him, existing small aircraft projects involve the production of dozens of aircraft at best, although the demand for them is in the hundreds. Therefore, OAK is ready to act as a partner and provide factory facilities.
We have offered several of our sites, in particular, the facilities of the "Sokol" plant in Nizhny Novgorod, as a base for deploying serial production of such projects. We have ensured the minimum cost of such work and services.
The "Sokol" plant in Nizhny Novgorod is exclusively associated with MiG-31 supersonic interceptors. Serial production ceased in 1994, but "Sokol" modernizes combat vehicles to MiG-31BM and MiG-31K versions.
At the same time, "Sokol" is actively involved in the production of parts for Il-114-300, MS-21-310, and also Yak-42.
