"Regiontransneft" plans to launch a universal factory for home appliances and electronics in the Moscow region. The company wants to produce about 40 categories of devices under the RTN brand — from televisions, refrigerators, and kettles to smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, lamps, and batteries.

For the project, two industrial facilities with a total area of over 114 thousand square meters are being purchased. The deal, worth approximately 15 billion rubles, is expected to close by the end of summer, and the first stage of investments will amount to 400 million dollars (about 35–38 billion rubles).

They plan to start with large-unit assembly and then move to full-cycle production. The company emphasizes that it does not intend to simply occupy a ready-made site — a separate structure, "MK Rus," was created for the project.

The bet seems bold: the home appliance market in Russia is cooling down. By the end of 2025, manufacturers' revenue decreased by 11.6% and amounted to 209.2 billion rubles. At the same time, Chinese brands continue to push prices down, and buyers are increasingly cautious about large expenditures.

Experts doubt that with the stated areas and such a budget, it will be possible to equally effectively assemble irons, refrigerators, and smartphones. Risks include a shortage of engineers, dependence on imported components, and too diverse production technologies. But the factory's proximity to buyers could provide an advantage, at least in large home appliances, due to cheaper logistics.
