The project "Organization of single-item flow on the MS-21 door assembly line" received an award for the best economic effect at the UAC production systems competition. The development was presented by the Yakovlev Production Center in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
The new production organization scheme is aimed at eliminating bottlenecks in assembly and reducing the time products spend in the production cycle.
Economist Mikhail Khazin explained that the delay in MS-21 serial production is partly due to the specifics of resource allocation in different industrial sectors.
First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated that the MS-21 would become a direct competitor to the Airbus A320. "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" decided to verify this statement, compared both aircraft in a detailed article, and identified the strengths of each.
