The Aviastar enterprise plans to carry out large-scale re-equipment to increase production volumes. This was announced by Alexey Russkikh, head of the Ulyanovsk region, after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
According to him, agreements with the United Aircraft Corporation and PAO Ilyushin have already been concluded.
We presented the main points of the upcoming modernization. Thanks to federal support, the aircraft plant will be able to increase production capacity.
Russkikh clarified that the plant also continues its work on attracting and training personnel. Currently, the enterprise's staff consists of 14 thousand employees, of whom 2300 people were employed in 2025 alone.
Currently, Aviastar is serially building heavy military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A. In the near future, they will begin producing new Il-100 and Il-276 aircraft there.
OAK Head Vadim Badeha stated that there is huge interest from foreign customers in the Il-76MD-90A.
