11.2 million rubles, allocated for the development of documentation for raising the sunken floating dock PD-50, will be returned to the reserve fund of the Murmansk region government. All expenses were reimbursed by the federal budget.
The draft resolution of the regional cabinet was published on the "Open Electronic Region" portal. The return of funds is due to the fact that the costs for developing documentation for raising and removing the sunken floating dock were reimbursed from the federal budget.
The accident on PD-50 occurred on October 30, 2018, during the departure of Russia's only aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" from the dock after repairs. The preliminary cause of the incident was named as power outage. Due to a crane fall, the cruiser's hull and deck were damaged.
PD-50, with a lifting capacity of up to 80 thousand tons, is one of the largest floating docks in the world, built in 1980 in Sweden.
