The development of artificial intelligence and new technologies can significantly change the situation in the labor market. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, if the potential of such solutions is realized by at least 30%, the total demand for personnel in Russia could decrease by 10%.
With 30% realization of the potential of new technologies, the total staffing needs in the country could decrease by 10%.
The assessment was prepared by the Ministry of Labor and Sberbank, taking into account foreign research. Experts analyzed the possible impact of AI and other technologies on labor productivity across 900 professional groups.
Earlier, Golikova noted that currently in Russia, there are about 18 vacancies for every unemployed person. Therefore, it is not so much about instantly replacing people with algorithms, but rather about increasing productivity: some routine tasks can be automated, and the workload can be redistributed among employees. This could partially alleviate the personnel shortage, which remains one of the key problems for the economy.
