A unified system for accounting for aircraft components to control the technical condition of civil aircraft will be created in Russia. The law on amendments to the Air Code was signed by the country's president, the Ministry of Transport reported.
The new digital platform will contain information about serial numbers of parts, dates of manufacture and installation, remaining service life, and certificates. From March 2028, data will begin to be collected and processed in the state information system.
The Ministry of Transport explained that the system will help streamline control over the condition of the aircraft fleet and more quickly identify possible technical deviations. The main part of the new norms will come into force on September 1, 2026.
In addition, an institute of control inspection will appear in Russia, which will monitor the quality of production and acceptance of certified aviation equipment. These functions can be performed, among others, by organizations subordinate to Rosaviatsia.
New requirements will also affect equipment for drone control. Mandatory certification is introduced for it. At the same time, unmanned civil aircraft weighing less than 5700 kilograms, not intended for flights over populated areas and passenger transportation, were excluded from the scope of control inspection.
The ministry noted that the changes were prepared taking into account international ICAO standards and are aimed at improving flight safety.
