Flight tests of the Russian "Amur-SPG" launch vehicle with a reusable first stage will begin in 2031. The new timeline was revealed at the Roscosmos stand during the International Security Forum in the Moscow region.
The "Amur-SPG" project is being developed for the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The rocket is expected to have a reusable first stage capable of up to 50 launches. In the future, it is intended to replace the "Soyuz-2" family of launch vehicles.
Previously, the project deadlines were earlier. In spring 2024, the first launch was expected in 2030. Later, Roscosmos head Dmitry Bakanov said that the rocket could be ready by late 2027 – early 2028. Now, the corporation has officially set the start of flight tests for 2031 only.
Bakanov also previously reported that a demonstrator of the first reusable stage of "Amur-SPG" is planned to be presented within the next one and a half to two years.
