Lada Azimut Crossover Has Not Yet Entered Mass Production: AvtoVAZ Made a Statement

Video with "ready" cars caused a stir, but the plant explained what is really happening

The new Lada Azimut crossover generated significant interest after a video from the plant showed cars on the inspection line. However, AvtoVAZ representatives clarified that full-scale serial assembly of the model has not yet begun and is officially planned only for the third quarter of 2026.

The discussion was sparked by a video published by Ilya Khlebushkin, an employee of the "Za Rulem" publication. In the recording, he was on the factory premises and showed the car.

In the video's commentary, the reviewer stated that serial production models of the Azimut were already undergoing final inspection at the outgoing control stand, and dealerships had already begun receiving such cars.

After this, the news quickly spread among brand enthusiasts. However, as it turned out, the conclusion was premature. The video did not show serial cars for sale, but pre-production samples.

Such cars are currently rolling off the assembly line at a rate of approximately two to three units per week. This is happening as part of an experimental mode, not full-scale mass production.

The enterprise still needs to prepare for the actual launch of serial assembly. It was during this period, on May 13, that the large-scale installation of new technological equipment was supposed to be completed at the plant. Without it, full production of the Lada Azimut is impossible.
