Instead of 1959 Soviet equipment: a new turbine unit launched at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1

72 hours non-stop proved the power unit's readiness for operation

A new 35 MW turbine unit has started operation at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1. The modernization was carried out by Yenisei TGK (part of Siberian Generating Company) with the support of the System Operator of the UES.

The station, launched in 1943, received modern equipment instead of turbine unit No. 8, which had been operating since 1959. The new unit consists of a district heating steam turbine manufactured in Kaluga and a turbogenerator from a Novosibirsk machine-building plant.

This is already the second stage of fleet renewal: next, turbine unit No. 15 of the same 35 MW capacity will be put into operation, replacing unit No. 7, manufactured in 1958, which has already been decommissioned.

Before commissioning, the owner conducted 72-hour comprehensive tests according to a program agreed with the System Operator. The results confirmed that all technical parameters of the new equipment comply with the requirements of the unified power system, and the unit is ready for operation under load.

Recall that yesterday at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 modernization of the gas cleaning system of the KVTK-100-150-6 hot water boiler began. A two-stage rectification system is being designed at the station. Instead of the existing multicyclone units for dust collection, modern composite modules will be installed.
