The cargo spacecraft "Progress MS-34" successfully docked with the "Zvezda" module of the International Space Station. The launch took place on April 26 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on a "Soyuz-2.1a" rocket. Less than nine minutes after launch, the spacecraft was put into near-Earth orbit, and during its two-day flight, it completed 33 orbits around Earth.
As part of the 95th ISS resupply mission, "Progress" delivered about 2.5 tons of cargo. Among them are 700 kg of fuel for refueling the station, 420 kg of drinking water, 50 kg of oxygen to maintain the atmosphere, and 1,348 kg of dry cargo for the ISS-74 crew and station systems. This includes the new "Orlan-MKS" spacesuit No. 8.
For scientific experiments, VR glasses and instruments for the "Virtual" experiment were sent to the station. With their help, scientists will study how weightlessness affects vision, the vestibular apparatus, and spatial orientation, and will also track body reactions. In addition, the equipment for the "Neuroimmunity", "Correction", "Biodegradation", and "Separation" experiments is on board.
"Progress MS-34" became the 185th spacecraft of the "Progress" series in the history of Russian cosmonautics. It is equipped with the new "Kurs-NA" rendezvous system, which uses a modern Russian-made component base and allows for reduced fuel consumption during docking. Docking with the "Zvezda" module was carried out in automatic mode under the control of Roscosmos cosmonauts on the ISS.
