"Perfect Launch": NASA Assesses "Progress" Launch from Baikonur

The 95th cargo ship was put into orbit without any issues, noted a representative of the American agency

The "Progress MS-34" cargo spacecraft successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and entered orbit for docking with the International Space Station. The launch of the "Soyuz-2.1a" launch vehicle was assessed as perfect by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

A representative of the agency, commenting on the Roscosmos broadcast, noted the flawless operation of the rocket, which delivered the 95th "Progress" series cargo ship into orbit.

According to the supply mission program, the spacecraft will deliver about 2.5 tons of useful cargo to the station. Among the necessities are 700 kg of fuel for orbit correction and ISS engine operation, 420 kg of drinking water, and 50 kg of oxygen to maintain the atmosphere. Another 1,348 kg consists of dry cargo: equipment, food, hygiene products, a new "Orlan-MKS" No. 8 spacesuit, and VR glasses for crew training.

"Progress MS" is an automated Russian-made transport spacecraft designed to service orbital stations. It ensures the delivery of fuel, water, oxygen, food, scientific equipment, and other materials, and also participates in correcting the ISS orbit altitude.
