S-400 "Triumf" SAM systems abroad may be enhanced with S-500 "Prometey" technology

India expects to receive software for improved target recognition

Russia does not plan to supply the S-500 "Prometey" anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) to India, but allows the transfer of individual technological solutions for the modernization of the S-400 "Triumf". This is reported by the IDRW publication, citing sources.

This refers to updating the software of the complex's key systems, including the 91N6E panoramic radar. The software will significantly improve the quality of target recognition.

It is expected that the system will be able to more effectively detect low-observable and slow-moving objects (including drones), as well as high-speed targets in conditions of complex interference.

In parallel, India is considering integrating the S-400 with Netra Mk1 airborne early warning aircraft. This will allow direct air-to-air targeting and engagement of targets beyond the visibility range of ground radars.

Indian media also reported that the military wants to equip the "Triumf" systems with highly maneuverable 9M96E and 9M96E2 missiles to combat low-observable drones.
