Akonstrans will become the contractor for the construction of a new plant for the production of solid-state microwave electronics, Karat, in Sverdlovsk Region. All work will be completed by 2027, regional head Denis Pasler announced.
Karat will be deployed on an area of 15 thousand m² and equipped with advanced equipment providing a full cycle of technological operations.
The electronic component base is necessary for satellite and mobile communications systems, radar and telecommunications systems, unmanned vehicles, and automotive electronics.
In March, CNews wrote that a contractor for Karat had not yet been selected, but now the matter has finally gotten off the ground.
The Telegram channel "Russkoe oruzhie" claimed that Karat's products could be used in transmit-receive modules of radar stations for aviation and air defense.
This refers to the 96L6-TsP from the S-350A Vityaz air defense missile system, or the Yenisei multi-functional radar from the S-500 Prometheus and S-400 Triumph air defense missile systems, as well as the N036 Belka onboard radars of Su-57 fighters.
