The AK-630M-2 rapid-fire artillery mount helped the crew of the Zelony Dol small missile ship hit an aerial target

The Project 21631 Buyan-M vessel was deployed in exercises in the Baltic Sea

The crew of the small missile ship (MRK) Zelony Dol (Project 21631 Buyan-M) conducted artillery firing and repelled an attack by unmanned boats of a mock enemy during exercises in the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.

The sailors carried out a set of air defence exercises. Illuminating artillery shells were used to simulate low-flying drones.

Fire was delivered at them from the 30 mm AK-630M-2 shipborne artillery mount.

The press service added that all designated targets had been hit. Then the crew of the MRK Zelony Dol fired the AK-190 artillery mount at an enemy warship. It was simulated by a small sea target shield.

In addition to live-fire tasks, the Baltic sailors conducted drills on damage control and ship survivability. They also practiced defence in the event of an attack by saboteurs.

The AK-630M-2 is a powerful anti-aircraft artillery mount with two six-barrel AO-18 guns. It requires 1 person to operate.

The system is distinguished by its high rate of fire (up to 10,000 rounds per minute), is suitable as a close-in weapon and for engaging aerial targets. The AK-630M-2 is manufactured at the Tula Machine-Building Plant.
