The thermal conditioning unit is a specialized equipment system for maintaining the required temperature, humidity, and air cleanliness inside the Angara-A5 fairing at the launch complex. It is also used during the transport of the rocket to the launch site.

Angara-A5 family rockets

Angara-A5 is the first heavy-class launch vehicle developed after 1991. Previously, Proton-M rockets were used.

The project, commissioned by the Russian Ministry of Defence, was carried out by engineers from the country’s leading rocket and space industry enterprises — JSC GKNPTs imeni M. V. Khrunicheva and NPO Energomash. The first three launches of the Angara-A5 took place at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, while the fourth was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
