On April 30, a large-scale expedition on two Ural trucks will begin. South African journalist Johannes Badenhorst will set off from Murmansk to Magadan to create a documentary series about Russia for an international audience. The Ural Automobile Plant from Miass provided equipment for the film crew, supporting this project.
The route, more than 20 thousand kilometers long, will pass through 30 regions of the country. Filming will be completed on July 10. On the road, journalists will live and work in a specialized mobile home based on the Ural-5557 6×6 chassis, and the expedition will be accompanied by the latest medium-tonnage Ural-80 with a 4×4 wheel formula.
The equipment will become not just transport, but a mobile base for the autonomous operation of the film crew away from infrastructure.
The plant's interest in the project is no coincidence: Ural CEO Pavel Yakovlev has been heading the Russian part of the Russia-South Africa Business Council for several years.
In the film, viewers will see not only harsh landscapes and architectural monuments, but also the life, traditions, and culture of the peoples of Russia. The authors of the project hope that the series will help to form a more voluminous and humane view of the country among the world audience.
