UAC explained why the windows in the MC-21 are larger than those of Boeing and Airbus

When developing the aircraft design, the emphasis was on passenger comfort

The United Aircraft Corporation has chosen a large window size for the new MC-21-310 liner for a reason. This decision is related to greater comfort for passengers, the UAC press service said.

They chose a standard rectangular shape with rounded corners for them. However, the size itself has increased significantly — the windows in the MC-21 cabin are almost 30% larger compared to foreign medium-range counterparts.

In size, they became the same as on large wide-body aircraft.

The large windows of the MC-21 not only provide a better view, but also let in more light, which makes the aircraft cabin visually more spacious. This changes the very feeling of the flight.

UAC added that in the future, if there is interest from customers, glasses with electronic dimming may appear on the aircraft.

Then the usual folding curtains will disappear in the MC-21 cabin. Passengers will be able to adjust the transparency level of the window with buttons, changing it from full light transmission to soft dimming.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the MC-21-310 flap fairings can withstand a huge temperature difference from −190 to +450 °C. Now these composites are produced in Russia.
