Ufa Turbine Plant has started production of gas turbine engines. The investment project worth more than 9.1 billion rubles has received priority status, according to the press service of the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The General Director of the plant, Ruslan Bagautdinov, clarified that the creation of the production complex began in 2023. In 2024, the company began repairing foreign-made gas turbine engines. In total, about 500 people will work there.
The head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, highly appreciated the development project of the Ufa Turbine Plant.
This is a large amount of investment, the organization of the most complex production. Well done!
The plant's plans for the near future include further expansion of production facilities and the formation of a laboratory complex. The supply of gas turbine engines of its own production is scheduled for 2027–2028.
The domestic industry is closely engaged in the production of turbines. For example, UEC plans to demonstrate a 300 MW unit in the future; there have never been such units in the history of the country.
However, there were also some "pitfalls". The head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, stated that Russian turbines are more expensive than foreign ones.
