The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia is considering the possibility of introducing a requirement to install a Russian operating system in domestically produced cars. This was announced by the head of the department, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, this is a promising measure aimed at increasing the level of cybersecurity and technological independence of the automotive industry.
As a prospect that we should strive for, undoubtedly - "Aurora" or any other operating system that will meet the requirements, including cybersecurity.
Alikhanov did not name specific dates for the possible introduction of the requirements. However, the approach itself reflects the course towards localization of key digital components in cars.
If implemented, the measure may affect the largest manufacturers, including AvtoVAZ. Installing a Russian OS can affect the ecosystem of services inside the car and change the architecture of the on-board electronics.
