The project that could have given Russia its own mass-produced small aviation has effectively come to a halt. TVS-2MS aircraft will now be supplied to Mongolia, while the attempt to launch production in the Saratov Region ended without result.
The Mongolian company MUNKH AERO has received official dealer status and will not only sell but also service the aircraft in its market. The aircraft has already been certified in the country for operation in difficult conditions, from high-altitude terrain to extreme temperatures.
It should be recalled that the TVS-2MS was the result of a deep modernization of the An-2 with a turboprop engine and improved range and speed characteristics. The aircraft was developed by the Saratov company "Rusaviaprom," which created it without state support.
The upgraded "crop duster" is equipped with a Honeywell TFE331-12 turboprop engine rated at 1,100 hp. Cruising speed is 200 km/h, maximum speed is up to 250 km/h. Capacity is 12 people.
The private project did not secure a place in state aviation development programs, where priority was given to other platforms, including the LMS-901 "Baikal." Despite numerous lawsuits against UZGA, the Ural plant is building a new foundry shop.
A bankruptcy case was also opened against "Rusaviaprom"; it was initiated by the Tax Inspectorate for the Omsk Region. The enterprise was established in 2011.
