A New Ferry and Passenger Vessel to Be Built Based on the Project 132PK Floating Polyclinic

The Port Kolomna enterprise has developed modifications for transporting people and equipment

Based on the Project 132PK floating polyclinic, a passenger vessel and a cargo-passenger ferry are being developed. This was reported by Port Kolomna CEO Vladimir Alekseev in an interview with Mediapaluba.

For operation on the Oka, the Belaya, and the Moscow River, an enlarged version of the hull is being proposed with a beam expanded to sixteen meters and a modified superstructure. The capacity of such a passenger vessel will be about 140 people, which will ensure high economic efficiency with a shallow draft. Such characteristics are critically important for navigation in conditions where the fairway depth does not exceed 1.5 meters, and modern cruise ships simply cannot pass along these routes.

The second modification will be a high-speed ferry capable of delivering equipment to an unequipped shore thanks to a retractable hydraulic ramp. This format is especially in demand in northern and remote areas with underdeveloped road infrastructure, where slow-moving barge-tug combinations are now usually used.

The basis for the developments was the floating polyclinic "Svyatitel Luka," which has already proven its effectiveness on the shallow tributaries of the Ob and the Irtysh. The vessel has a draft of only 1.3 meters and reaches a speed of up to 24 km/h, which allows it to enter side rivers with confidence.
