UEC Creates PD-14 and PD-8 Elements Using Russian Software for the First Time

Serial elements of the nacelle and panels were developed using domestic CAD/PLM systems

The United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec) is completing the final stage of implementing domestic software products for the design and production of aircraft engines, including PD-14 and PD-8. The creation of a PD-8 nacelle element was the first serial application of the Russian module. It was also used to manufacture a prototype of a PD-14 thrust reverser panel.

UEC's Director of Digital Transformation, Vyacheslav Khristolyubov, noted that the corporation is forming a target IT landscape in engine building, implementing two particularly significant projects with the support of the RFIT.

Today, the projects are in the fifth stage of implementation and are already showing high efficiency in the execution of design and production tasks. A prototype of the PD-14 engine thrust reverser panel was manufactured using Russian software, and the "KOMPAS-Composites" module was used for the first time in the design and production of the PD-8 nacelle element.

At "UEC-Aviadvigatel" enterprises, the stages of trial operation and preparation for industrial operation have been completed. By the end of 2026, it is planned to fully switch to domestic software in the development of geometric models.
