The Russian army has adopted a new cruise missile "Product-30". The weapon has been used sporadically so far, but it is already possible to judge that the usual logic of air defense to repel it no longer works, said military analyst Vlad Shlepchenko.
He drew attention to the fact that there were cases when "Product-30" was launched even by operational-tactical aviation aircraft or ground launchers. Both options expand both the number of carrier platforms and the suddenness of the use of these missiles, the military expert emphasized.
In view of this, intelligence agencies can only throw up their hands. Familiar tracking schemes in this case turn out to be ineffective.
Shlepchenko added that we are talking about the gradual introduction of new solutions. He did not name specific ground installations for "Product-30". Initially, the missile was positioned specifically as an air-launched munition.
It is known that "Product 30" received a wingspan of about 3 m, a range of at least 1500 km and a warhead of about 800 g. The missile's navigation system includes a jam-resistant satellite signal receiver "Comet-M12".
