The MPSV06M project rescue vessel is designed to ensure safety on the routes of the Northern Sea Route

Work continues on two MPSV06M project emergency rescue vessels at the Yantar shipyard in Kaliningrad (part of USC). The ships have been named "Pevek" and "Anadyr". After launching, the equipment will be taken over by the Marine Rescue Service. The main task of the new vessels is to ensure safety on the routes of the Northern Sea Route.

On the lead ship of the series, the "Pevek", the installation of the superstructure is coming to an end. The hull has already been moved to an open slipway. Now workers are engaged in saturating the hull and preparing foundations for the installation of the main engines. The progress of construction was personally assessed by the General Director of the FGU "State Customer Directorate" Leonid Mashaev and the Deputy Head of USC for civil shipbuilding Kirill Toropov.

The second vessel, the "Anadyr", remains in the covered boathouse for the time being. There, specialists are assembling the first three hull blocks and working out design solutions. Both ships are being built in parallel as part of the program for the development of the Northern Sea Route infrastructure until 2035.

The shipyard's engineers have fully implemented the import substitution plan. All key equipment and components on the vessels are of Russian production. This makes it possible not to depend on foreign supplies during operation in difficult Arctic conditions.
