Tu-160 bomber manufacturer declares critical financial condition

"Tupolev" and "Tatneft" still haven't agreed on a settlement

If the demands of Tatneft to PJSC Tupolev are met, funds intended for the execution of the state defense order will be diverted. Representatives of Tupolev stated this at the hearing in the Arbitration Court of Tatarstan, reports Realnoe Vremya.

Considering the critical financial condition, which has a negative trend, we ask to apply the provisions of the Civil Code on the conclusion of a settlement agreement.

The essence of the dispute between the companies is in four Tu-214 aircraft that Tupolev did not deliver to Tatneft within the agreed timeframe. At the meeting on February 16, it became known that the oilmen unilaterally terminated the contract for the supply of aircraft due to the slow pace of work.

The transfer of work in the form of finished objects under the contract, that is, aircraft, within the specified period, until December 31, 2025, was not possible.

The lawsuit, filed on October 9, is related to the demand to return unjust enrichment and interest; earlier in July, the court partially satisfied Tatneft's claims for 6 billion rubles (5.6 billion is unjust enrichment, 556 million is a penalty, 8 million is state duty).

The court finished the hearing and postponed the approval of the settlement agreement to March 6 of this year.

Tupolev is the manufacturer of Tu-160 strategic missile carriers "White Swan", the parent company of the special and strategic aviation division of UAC. Independent expert Alexey Zakharov stated that the state will not allow the corporation to go bankrupt, even despite significant financial demands.
