Yury Trutnev, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Rosaviatsiya to prepare measures to reduce the production and operating costs of the Il-114-300. At the same time, the aircraft must not lose in terms of quality and safety indicators.
Trutnev said that at the meeting on the prospects for the production and operation of the Il-114-300 on routes in the Far East and the Arctic, most of the time was devoted specifically to flight economics.
My colleagues told me that the aircraft is more economical than our An-24 aircraft, for example, and even than foreign aircraft. Then, when we start explaining how much companies will have to pay, in particular the Avrora company, it turns out that the payments will still be significantly higher. I asked them to look into this situation.
Trutnev added that the first Il-114-300 aircraft will go to the Far East in 2028, taking into account the technical production cycles.
The first three Il-114-300 units were estimated at 4 billion rubles per aircraft, while subsequent serial aircraft will cost 2.6 billion rubles. The new regional aircraft is intended to replace the outdated An-24 on domestic airlines, as well as the French ATR-72 and the Canadian Dash 8.
