Drones for monitoring winter roads and ice crossings introduced in KhMAO-Yugra

Drones will help dispatchers receive digital reports with photos and videos of violations on the roads of Yugra

A pilot project on the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to monitor the condition of winter roads and ice crossings has been launched in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The initiative aims to promptly monitor inter-municipal routes, where drones will record pavement defects and transmit information in real time.

With the help of UAS, dispatch services will be able to receive complete digital reports, including geographical coordinates, photos and videos of detected violations.

According to experts from the Department of Information Technology and Digital Development of the region, this technology will significantly improve the safety and reliability of transport links in winter, especially in problem areas in the Khanty-Mansi and Kondinsky districts.

The project emphasizes the growing role of autonomous systems in infrastructure management, allowing to minimize risks for personnel and optimize resources in harsh climates.
