Testing of diesel models in extreme conditions has begun at UAZ

The main task for specialists is to ensure stable engine operation in severe cold

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has begun testing new vehicle models with diesel engines. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service to Motor automotive magazine.

The company's engineers are tuning the engine control unit to guarantee its correct operation at subzero temperatures. During the tests, special attention is being paid to the operation of the turbocharging system, catalytic converter, and particulate filter in normal mode and under regeneration conditions.

At the same time, work is underway on tuning the vehicles' electronics. At the test grounds, specialists are calibrating the cruise control functions and the maximum speed limitation system.

The debut of the diesel versions of the UAZ "Patriot," "Pickup," and the commercial van "Profi" with 6-speed manual gearboxes is expected at the end of the second to the beginning of the third quarter of 2026.
