Analyst named a way to flood Africa, the Middle East and Asia with "Superjet-100s"

Sergey Marzhetsky: India acquired the rights to the SJ-100 "kit" and will be able to sell the airliners

The Russian short-haul "Superjet" may be sold in a number of countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa if India decides to supply its version of the SJ-100 to the foreign market. Analyst Sergey Marzhetsky explained how the scheme could be implemented.

He recalled that the agreement between the United Aircraft Corporation and the Indian conglomerate HAL provides for a license for the production and sale of the SJ-100, including assemblies and components.

Having obtained the rights to produce the "kit," it [India] will be able to simply purchase French engines and components in the West, with the prospect of selling the passenger airliner to countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Marzhetsky noted that in this model Russia will earn from the sale of the license and royalties, while for domestic airlines it will produce the import-substituted "Superjet-100".

The Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized that the SJ-100 does not depend on foreign components and is assembled entirely at facilities in Russia.

"Superjet-100" is a narrow-body short-haul aircraft designed to operate flights at distances of up to 5,000 km. The SJ-100 became the first mass-produced civil aircraft created in the Russian Federation after the collapse of the USSR.
