S7 Airlines (legal name "Airline 'Siberia'"), Russia's largest private carrier, has been fined 30,000 rubles for overbooking. The violation was recorded by the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.
It was revealed that in September 2025, a female passenger was denied check-in for a flight from Irkutsk to St. Petersburg. The reason was overbooking: the number of registered passengers exceeded the number of seats on board the aircraft.
The case was considered under Part 2 of Article 14.4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation — provision of services that do not comply with regulatory acts, committed repeatedly.
In December 2025, S7 Airlines was already fined for a similar violation. At that time, 19 passengers were also denied boarding on some flights from Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) due to exceeding the number of seats.
S7 Airlines operates regular domestic and international flights from hubs in Moscow and Novosibirsk. The fine emphasized the carrier's responsibility for complying with consumer protection laws.
