Unique Machine for Aircraft Industry Developed in Sevastopol

The equipment is designed for finishing the housings of Superjet sensors

A high-precision machine for the production of components for Sukhoi Superjet aircraft has been developed at Sevastopol State University. The equipment is designed for finishing sensor housings, said the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.

According to him, scientists worked closely with the "Fiolent" plant within the framework of the SSJ-New project. The machine, created by order of the enterprise, is designed for finishing the housings of sensors that are critical for modern aircraft.

The machine program provides a comprehensive approach. First, it measures the surface roughness, then, if necessary, performs processing and issues a conclusion on compliance with the specified parameters.

Specialists conducted a series of experiments and selected the most optimal technology, and the plant asked them to develop and manufacture specialized equipment for it.

The result of the joint work was a numerically controlled machine that not only processes parts, but also measures their quality parameters directly during operation.

Simferopol's "Fiolent" produces high-precision components for control systems designed to replace American and Japanese parts that were previously used in SSJ-100 aircraft. These products are also supplied for the completion of new MS-21 aircraft.
