The Project RSD 49 dry cargo ship "Kaspiyskiy bereg" will join the fleet of the Russian-Iranian shipping company in the first half of 2026

The vessel with a 50-meter hold will expand logistics capabilities in the Caspian and beyond

The Southern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) will complete the construction of the universal dry cargo ship of Project RSD 49 "Kaspiyskiy bereg" and deliver it to the customer — the Russian-Iranian Shipping Company — in the first half of 2026. This was reported by the OSK press service.

It is noted that the vessel will be launched from the slipways of the Lotos production site and will become part of the fleet of a company specializing in international maritime transportation between Russia and Iran.

OSK paid special attention to the design feature of "Kaspiyskiy bereg": the ship has an elongated middle hold more than 50 meters long, intended for transporting oversized and large-capacity cargo. This makes the vessel in demand for shipments requiring non-standard logistics solutions.

According to the technical specifications, the universal dry cargo ships of Project RSD 49 are capable of transporting a wide range of cargoes — from grain and timber to bulk, general, dangerous, and oversized cargo. Vessels of this type are certified to operate in the waters of the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic, White, and North Seas, and are also capable of making voyages around Europe, including sailing in the Irish Sea even during the winter period.
