The MC-21-310 prototype aircraft, number 012, has completed another flight as part of the certification testing program. The long route was laid to Sabetta in Yamal and back.
The main objective of the flight was to evaluate long-range shortwave communication and inertial navigation systems in flight along a closed route.
The route length was more than 5100 km. In flight, a northern latitude of 71°26' was reached.
Sergey Chemezov, head of Rostec, noted that the certification of the MC-21 is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, clarified that the MC-21-310 will reduce weight and increase the flight range by approximately 1000 km by 2029.
