According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, from January to November 2025, the number of road traffic accidents in Russia amounted to 117 thousand, which is 2.9% less compared to the same period last year. The victims of the accidents were 12.6 thousand people (a decrease of 3.8%), and the number of injured decreased by 3.5%, reaching 144.9 thousand. However, some regions are experiencing an increase in the number of incidents, especially involving children who took a vehicle from their parents.
In particular, in the Kostroma region, the number of accidents increased by 21.3%, in the Oryol region - by 17.4%, and in the Astrakhan region - by 16.2%. In Ingushetia and the Republic of Tyva, this figure was 13.3% and 13.2%, respectively.
The department noted a sharp increase in mortality as a result of road accidents compared to last year: in Khakassia - by 37.8%, in the Novgorod region - by 37.3%, and in the Astrakhan region - by 35.2%. In parallel, there is an increase in accidents with motorcycles (+7.5%), mopeds and powerful scooters (+9.8%).
An increase in incidents involving adolescents has been noticed: the number of such accidents has increased by 9.3%, with 2.7 thousand incidents registered, of which in 2.17 thousand cases, minors were driving motorcycles.
