Magnetic storm to hit Earth at midnight — astronomers rewrite forecast

There is a possibility of an X10 class flare

Astronomers have radically updated the forecast for the expected magnetic storm tomorrow. This was reported by the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of IKI and ISZF.

Scientists recalculated the speed of yesterday's plasma release and concluded that the geomagnetic storm may begin not tomorrow in the middle of the day, but today at midnight.

Today's release of matter after the X-class flare will pass by the Earth. The event poses zero threat to the planet.

The explosion occurred in spot group 4298, which is strongly, more than 50 degrees, shifted relative to the direction to Earth, so the calculation results are expected.

The laboratory emphasized that since the beginning of the day, there have been three M-class flares and one X-level flare on the Sun. For the first time in a week, experts have seen activity in the largest region of the year — zone 4294.

In the overall game that is currently taking place on the Sun, this event plays no role; events on the scale of X10 are being played out as stakes.
