"Flying Desk" - UTS-800 Aircraft Receives Unique Ground Movement System

Even the Yak-152, Yak-18, and Yak-52 Don't Have This Design

The UTS-800 training aircraft is equipped with a ground movement control system. This was reported by the press service of the manufacturer, the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA).

UZGA explained that the system includes mechanisms for turning the nose wheel and differential braking of the main landing gear wheels.

Among Russian training aircraft of similar design and characteristics, the UTS-800 has no analogues. For example, the Yak-152, Yak-18, and Yak-52 aircraft are not equipped with such a system, although they are also designed for initial pilot training.

The system allows for better control of the aircraft on the ground, using both separate braking of the wheels on the main landing gear and turning the nose wheel, and simplifies maneuvering at low speeds, during takeoff and landing, including in the presence of crosswinds.

It is also noted that the modernization of the aircraft will allow it to perform tasks closer to real combat conditions.
